NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM – N’IBU FEIER

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a national level technical symposium on 04, March 2020. Mr. K. S. Natrajan, Managing Director, Trident Pneumatic Pvt. Ltd. graced the occasion as chief guest.

Technical events like paper presentation, CAD master, technical quiz, water rocketry, Mr. Machinist were conducted which was followed by Non- Technical events such as Photography, Connexion, treasure hunt and other fun events.

                         ONE DAY HANDS-ON TRAINING ON ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

Department of Mechanical Engineering Organized a “One day Hands-on Training on Engine Assembly and Transmission System” on 05, February 2020. Mr. Infant Jerald, Managing Director, Rejoice Auto Care handled the sessions.

Both theory and practical sessions are handled to give exposure to the students attended.

One Day Workshop & Hands on Training of Automation Using “YASKAWA” – Industrial Robotics

Department of Mechanical Engineering Organized a One Day Workshop in Hands on Training of Automation Using “YASKAWA” – Industrial Robotics on 07, February 2020. Mr.M.Jagadeeshan, Business Development Engineer and Mr.Muthukumaran, Application Engineer, Axis global institute of training gave intro about the “YASKAWA”.

The workshop was also accompanied by Hands on Session in the afternoon and the session was found useful to students with interest in Automobile, Mechanical and Mechatronics.

One Day Workshop on Solar Energy for Polytechnic Students

Department of Mechanical Engineering Organized a One Day Workshop on Solar Energy” on 12, February 2020.  Mr.P.L.Navaneethakrishnan, AP/Mech and Mr.V.T.Vijayaraj, AP/Mech handled the sessions. 113 students registered for the workshop. It covers various topics like Overview of Solar Energy & Photovoltaic System, Solar Thermal & its Applications, Opportunities of power generation in solar power plant which was followed by Solar Lab and Roof top visit.

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a workshop on Advance Piping Design on 13 & 14, February 2020 in association with VLand’s Best Hub pvt. ltd, Coimbatore.  Mr. R.Jegan, Piping Design Engineer and Technical Lead, Mr. Shiva, Design Engineer and Technical Lead,  M/s. VLand’s Best Hub pvt ltd handled the sessions

Both theory and practical sessions are handled to give exposure to the students attended.

India’s first One Day Workshop and Hands on Training on “LIVE CAR ENGINES”

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a “One day workshop and Hands-on Training on Live Car Engines on 20, February 2020. Mr. Infant Jerald, Managing Director, Rejoice Auto Care and Mr.Thirumurugan, Automotive skill developer at TECHLOTS handled the sessions.

Both theory and practical sessions are handled to give exposure to the students attended. 118 students from various colleges participated in the event.

 One Day Workshop on Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Design

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a workshop, “Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Design” on 26th february 2020 for Engineering students. The session was handled by Mr.Shabeer Ahamed -MEP Engineer (HVAC) and Mr. Mukund vijay – MEP Engineer (Electrical & Plumbing).

The Design and working of different HVAC systems like Air conditioners, Air handlers, Heating and cooling, coils, Ductless and heat pumps were designed in Auto CAD software. About 50 students were benefited from this session.

Workshop on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA) in association with VLand’s Best Hub Pvt. Ltd, Coimbatore organized a Two day Workshop on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) on 26th and 27th September, 2019”. The resource persons were Er.S.Karthick, HVAC Design Engineer and Technical Lead and Er.R.Jegan Design Engineer and Technical Lead from M/s. VLAND’s BEST Hub Private Limited, Coimbatore. 50 Students from different engineering college from Tamilnadu took part in the workshop. This workshop gave depth knowledge about the Functions and classification of HVAC systems and their needs in different conditions, Rules for designing the HVAC system that requires the Mathematical Expression and formulae and some basic requirements that to be achieved, Designing of HVAC system through AutoCAD software and Introduction about exhaust system under different loading conditions

Participants were presented with a session highlighting the latest trends and developments in Automobile Engineering field.

The session was handled by Prof. G.Prabhu and VT.Vijayaraj Live demonstration of working of various assemblies and parts of the half cut Ashok Leyland heavy duty vehicle was shown.

The working of different systems like Steering, Power Brake, Suspension, Engine cooling, Drive and Power Train were demonstrated in the Automobile Laboratory.

 

About 70 students benefited from the session.

DSS that various companies and industries employ depends on manufacturing characteristics, demand fluctuation, transportation and inventory costs. The actual industrial practices from raw material procurement into final products. It is very useful for timely decisions, prioritized decisions, better solutions, critical reviews and loss reduction.

Department of Mechanical Engineering Organized a workshop, “Recent Trends in Automobile Engineering” on 22, September 2017 for Polytechnic students. Participants were presented with a session highlighting the latest trends and developments in Automobile Engineering field.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a workshop,“CNC PROGRAMMING”on 1st March, 2017 for Polytechnic college students.About 50 students participated hailing from polytechnic colleges located in and around Coimbatore.

The first sessionwason“Basics and an overview of CNC Programming” and handled by Mr.M.Ramar.

Second session was on “Hands on Training in Edge CAM Software”handled by Mr.A.Karthick. This session gave practical training on developing CNC programming for a part drawing using different codes.

As the last session of the day, participants were taken to ‘M/s Adithya CAD/CAM Private Limited, located in Ganapathy, Coimbatore for an industrial visit. During the visit to the company, participants come across different types of CNC machining centres and milling centres and got to know their different functionality.

During the concluding session, participants were issued with participation certificate by the principal Dr.N.Kathiravan.and Dr.K.Senthil Kumar, Head of the Department Mechanical Engineering dept.

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a motivational talk,“Let us talk – PeasalamVanga”on 01 March, 2017 for all the final year B.E Students and MBA Students between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The session was handled by Mr.M.Giri, Managing Director, M/s GSV Corporation, Coimbatore.

He presented to the students the importance of acquiring positive attitude and good characters for being successful in their life. He also vividly expressed his personal experiences with relevance to various traits of life. He explained how important it is to have good Communication Skill and Time Management for a meaningful career in future.

He enumerated the tools required forthe success in carrier and life.Many students interacted with him and clarified many doubts.

About 300 students benefited from the session.

  A one day national level Seminar on “Challenges and Issues in Solar & Wind Energy Resources” was held on Wednesday, 11 January 2017 at Adithya Institute of Technology, Kurmbapalayam. The Seminar was sponsored by Indian Space Research Organisation,(ISRO).
